“SEEN” is a project that was inspired by some of the incredible women I know on Martha’s Vineyard.

Each woman was asked to look into the camera, and allow themselves to be and feel as they are in the moment. My intention was to create an environment where each woman felt safe, comfortable and seen as they are.

“Cuba, A Love Letter “, is a collage of video footage from my first trip to Havana, Cuba in 1998, for a two week intensive dance program, hosted at La ENA(The National School of Arts).

“Return To Cuba”, is a video about returning to Havana, Cuba nineteen years later(2017) , for a two week intensive dance study. This time, the focus was on rumba and dances of the Orishas.

Navigating the In Between, is a dance/video collaborative effort between Zada Clarke and I.

As the mover, I am exploring and expressing my experience of navigating multiple identities and cultural influences.

Zada beautifully captured the complexity of this exploration with humor, grace and depth.
